If you ever get stuck at the back of a gig, with the boring people, where the atmosphere is anything but rocking, even though the noise coming from the electroclash rockers the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is just the coolest, as Karen O blasts out 'as a f*ck son, you suck'……….damn, get yourselves out of this nightmare situation!!! Phlem decided to head for the 'mosh pit'(usually avoided at all costs)and managed to place ourselves right in the middle of it(which is how we managed to get such cool, close up photos)
Karen O was dressed to kill in an 80's inspired black and yellow, slash t-shirt dress and leggings ensemble finished off with a pair of yellow legwarmers, fantastic!! Although she totally rocks Phlem were expecting a few more punk antiques from Karen, not enough spitting, beer throwing and general rolling around in it all for our liking.
Whilst the YYY's knocked out Phlem favourites 'Bang' and 'Machine', which were just amazing live, teenagers crowd surfed over our heads as we slowly crept forward to the stage. The screams from the crowd were soon dimmed as Karen threw the mike into them. Suddenly nobody had anything to say and just as the silence was becoming cringeworthy, a teenage boy finds the courage to shout into the mike…..Haha! Very original……..not that we were going to say anything. Karen shouts 'that's been the best (response) one yet'
The only let down about this amazing gig was that the 'YYY's' bags had all sold out (gutted) luckily, we did manage to get some cool 'YYY's' leather wrist cuffs instead. So, if anyone can get hold of these much wanted bags………..get us one will you?
